Biggest risk

EPS declined sequentially and missed Zacks' $0.70 consensus by $0.05; charge-offs rose markedly from a year earlier, and lower loan balances partly offset net-interest-income gains. Other providers show materially different pre-release EPS estimates, so the precise surprise is source-dependent. No verified post-print target or estimate revisions were available. Commentary

Mixed-to-cautious T+1 tone: the $0.65 EPS result disappointed one documented consensus despite stronger margin. FIBK traded at $36.28 at 14:39 UTC on October 23, down 1.63% from the packet's $36.88 October 22 close; this is an intraday move, not a final post-earnings reaction. No verified post-print analyst revisions were found, and consensus EPS figures differ across providers. Company earnings exhibit Zacks comparison

Post-earnings reassessment
2026-10-30
Third-quarter EPS was $0.65 versus $0.87 in the prior quarter and $0.69 a year earlier. It missed Zacks' $0.70 pre-release consensus, while net interest margin rose eight basis points sequentially to 3.53%. The market must weigh the earnings shortfall against margin improvement. Deposits fell 0.2% sequentially; much of the 5.4% year-over-year decline reflected branch sales. Whether improving asset quality and funding mix persist is the key medium-term test.
