Q3 results test subscription growth against margin pressure • 2026-11-09

Base target: $37 / p=50% prob

Biggest risk

Year-over-year declines in adjusted gross margin, adjusted EBITDA margin, and non-GAAP EPS mean growth has not yet translated into better profitability. The size of the announced contract does not establish its revenue timing. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06]

Invalidation

Break below $26 or thesis failure.

What would change my mind?

Q2 revenue grew 10% to $312.4 million, subscription revenue grew 14%, and management cited accelerating AI revenue. Conversion of the large customer agreement and Voice AI launch could sustain growth. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06]

Commentary

Primary Q2 results support a positive growth signal but mixed profitability, warranting monitoring rather than a strong bullish call. Recent relevant headlines are sparse. Reliable post-Q2 analyst revisions and an attributable post-release price reaction are unavailable. The zero-valued sentiment, options, short-interest, and employee fields are unavailable-data placeholders, not measured neutral readings.

Q3 results test subscription growth against margin pressure
Five9 guided Q3 revenue to $316–322 million and non-GAAP EPS to $0.77–0.81. The next report will show whether Q2's 14% subscription-revenue growth persists while margins recover. November 9 is an estimated, not company-confirmed, earnings date. Next few weeks

Profitability could lag subscription growth
2026-11-09
Q2 adjusted gross margin fell to 61.4% from 63.0% a year earlier, adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 22.4% from 24.0%, and non-GAAP EPS declined to $0.70 from $0.76. Continued compression at the next results would weaken the growth thesis. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06] https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1288847/000128884726000121/a063026ex991earningsrelease.htm

Large contract and Voice AI revenue conversion
2027-06-30
Five9 announced an approximately $100 million total-contract-value customer win through Google Marketplace and launched Voice AI Agents. The investment test is recognized revenue and retention rather than contract value alone; June 2027 is a monitoring horizon, not a disclosed milestone. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06] https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1288847/000128884726000121/a063026ex991earningsrelease.htm

Management's outlook is subject to macroeconomic uncertainty, and the next earnings date has not been company-confirmed. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06]
September Form 4 open-market sales by several officers are monitoring context, not evidence of weaker operations. [#SEC-FORM4-2026-09-09] [#SEC-FORM4-2026-09-21]
Timing and profitability of revenue from the approximately $100 million total-contract-value agreement remain unproven. [#SEC-8K-2026-08-06]
